HEY EVERYONE!!
Sorry i havent updated this yet. I was having serious issues trying to figure out how to do it. Luckily, Cameron helped me today and now I think i've got it down :)
So, I am going to try to update at the begining of every week with what went on the previous weekend. (notice i said TRY...you know how life happens, so it may not be every monday, but that is my goal!!)
This past weekend the girls went down to Texas. They played Indiana Friday night and UNC on Sunday. The Indiana game was not good...so we wont talk too much about that :) Indiana scored on a PK and then in the last minute of the game. It was a loss, but it was also a lesson that I think our girls learned. It doesnt matter your talent level, if you dont leave your heart on the field EVERY TIME, you're not going to be succesful.
Moving on to Sundays game, they lost to UNC 1-0, but a MUCH BETTER performance!! I didnt travel this weekend with the team, but was told the team looked completely different on Sunday than it did Friday night. They battled with UNC the entire 90, and had several great scoring opportunities. The game went back and forth, but UNC was able to capitalize on an opportunity and put the game away.
While they experienced two losses, the emotion and feeling at the end of each one of those games was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!! There is a different feeling when you give your all versus when you only give part of yourself. Sunday, these girls gave their all, and you cant ask for more than that!
Hopefully they have learned that it is worth it to lay it all on the field. Kinda like when you run fitness and you are running so hard and working so hard that you start to pee on yourself at about the 9th 120. but you know you have to keep going, because to work that hard and then stop would just keep you awake all night w/ bitter regret and disappointment. So you pee yourself, finish the 1oth and though you smell, you feel an incredible sense of accomplishment...kinda like that :)
ha!
Anyway...i have to feed my husband now, because we all know that husbands cant feed themselves..haha--I KID, I KID :) but, we play west virginia this Friday night at 8 and then Washington State Sunday at 2. So if you are in town and can come, PLEASE COME SUPPORT US!!! We need all the support we can get. Friday night is going to be a BATTLE!!!
Hope you all have had a great week. Let me know if you'll be at the game this weekend...I'd love to see you!!
Take care, and I'll be baaaaaacccckkkkk..................................
